Inclusivity is our number one priority at TLBD and our goal is to help abandoned, mistreated, and abused dogs find the best possible homes while expanding the accessibility of rescue work in the DMV. We strive to achieve this goal with compassion, transparency, and a strong sense of responsibility to our dogs, applicants, volunteers, foster families, and supporters.
We aim to be a compassion centered organization, with the understanding that the rescue and adoption process can be deeply personal for our applicants, volunteers, and foster parents. We believe the best thing about dogs is their ability to love anyone as long as they are kind and loving, and strive to represent this same idea at the Little Black Dog Rescue Group.
We accept sometimes, things happen that are out of our control but promise to be open and transparent with our applicants, volunteers, and supporters to guarantee the most positive outcome for our dogs.
We welcome the sincere responsibility in rescuing a dog and understand that responsibility does not end at adoption. We will search to find and support adopters that share in this understanding and are willing to accept this life-long commitment.
